A Year Without Drawing Morgalla
It's been a year since I've drawn anything Morgalla, longer if you count uploading to this site. The reason? Many. Perhaps it was because of my mother's illness taking over my life last year. As best as I could, I tried to get her to move, exercise, and eat right. That's something I've tried to do for years now. I noticed last year that things were never going to get better and she had given up. I was taking care of a grown baby, in essence. She entered hospice care in my home and died in November. I've lost a lot of interest in many things I used to love. I have no interest in Donald Duck and haven't traded any pics in years. Then there's my biggest passion: drawing. I've not only stopped drawing Morgalla, but drawing all together. It's now been a year. I loved drawing, but hardly ever shared anything online anymore. For every ten sketches, I finally found something I liked, finished it and shared it here. There's also the fact that one of the biggest reasons I was drawing
R.I.P. Mom
My mother has died from heart failure, brought upon by many months of fighting kidney failure. She was 83. She was born in Southern Illinois in a very poor neighborhood. When she was four, her family moved to Detroit for work. She didn't talk much of her childhood, deciding instead to change the subject. I didn't pry, figuring that the present and future were more important. I do know that she and my dad knew each other in high school but she didn't know he had feelings for her until before he joined the navy at 18. He asked if he could write to her while he was away to which she agreed. She was married to my father for 52 years until his death in 2015. Her health and well-being became my responsibility. After having her in my corner all during my childhood and always doing what was best for me, it was the least I could do. She was really there for me, I had to be there for her. The past few years have been the most difficult in her life, having fought a bone infection
Mom's Go Fund Me
My friends, I hope this finds you well. Some good news first: Recently I had a book signing that I'd like to share. I sold twelve books which is my all time best for a signing. Some bad news: My mother's health continues to decline and the expenses are piling up. I've started a go fund me and any assistance would be appreciated: https://www.gofundme.com/manage/g9rvfs-moms-expenses On behalf of my family, thank you and God bless you all.
Facebook Compromised
So, my facebook has been compromised, I can't log into it. When I try to reset password, some other asshole's email address is there. I've tried reaching out to FB yet nothing so far. Any suggestions?
